Default Looking for a change...

I need to say up front that I don't consider myself a particularly good ranger. Having said that, I do find my ranger quite enjoyable to play, and am looking for some input on how to get better. Also please note that I am not that great at interrupting, have all 3 campaigns + GWEN, and that my ranger has only just beaten Prophecies recently.

Here is a build that I currently use:

Marksmanship: 12 + 1 + 1
Expertise: 12 + 2
Wilderness Survival: 3 + 1

[skill]needling shot[/skill][skill]burning arrow[/skill][skill]screaming shot[/skill][skill]sloth hunter's shot[/skill][skill]rapid fire[/skill][skill]troll unguent[/skill][skill]Throw Dirt[/skill][skill]resurrection chant[/skill]

I used to use [skill]read the wind[/skill] instead of rapid fire, but I like the greater attack speed over faster arrows, (though the extra damage RtW also grants would probably result in a higher DPS). I am also aware that a major rune of expertise is probably a waste, and may change that to a minor for more hp at some later date. I am working my way through Factions to get [skill]broad head arrow[/skill]. I occasionally switch out throw dirt for poison tip signet, to stack bleeding, burning, & poison, but have preferred throw dirt lately for enemies that get close.

Thank you for your feedback.

Put Savage Shot and Distracting Shot on your bar, and basically... just get better at interrupting.
It's hard, but hugely rewarding, and what the Ranger is best at.

Savage Shot and D-Shot are powerful skills.
Interrupting is hard to get used to if you're severely sluggish as me and my 'best' friend lag, but you get used to interrupting quite easily if you stick to it.

You might want to use 9 Wilderness Survival with a Minor to take advantage of the best Ranger stance there is, though - Natural Stride and to accompany that, Apply Poison and Troll Unguent!

A lot of the more dangerous/annoying skills have higher cast times anyway, like meteor shower or resurrection signet. You can also get good at predicting casts, if your reaction time is poor like mine

Don't forget stuff like Word of Healing and Revesal of Fortune (that one HAS to be predicted! )
They don't have high cast times.
And AoE is only harmful if there's tons of it when you're with H/H or when you're with idiots who don't understand what moving out of AoE is...or snares!
